Combatants Quest

General Rules:

Last one in the air wins!
Build-Fly.
Will be judged on two categories: Kit build-up & Flight. Up to 100 points for Kit Build-up and 55 points for kit adjustments (see notes below). Flight will decide victor.
Must build within these guidelines:

Must use Kit: House of Balsa 2 X 6.

75 pts. 2X6 Kit
10 pts. Modification to tail feathers
5 pts. No fiberglass
5 pts. No balancing weight added
5 pts. Covering scheme of four or more colors

Bonus and Penalties which will adjust points:

15 pts. Mechanical modification (i.e. bomb bay door, etc.)
10 pts. Third control surface (i.e. spoiler, etc.)
10 pts. Detail modification (i.e. LED type lights, etc.)
10 pts. Bolt-on wing
10 pts. No external control linkage
-20 pts. Weight: less than 27 ozs. or greater than 33 ozs.
-20 pts. Third receiver channel
-15 pts. Modification to wing (apparent)
-15 pts. Modification to fuselage (apparent)

April, 2000.....Basic information about plane is due. This information may change and is not set in stone. List information about your plane, this too can be a mind strategy game on your competitors. You should have mostly true information, some fibbing here will not hurt. Keep it believable. Size of plane and description of plane will work, sketches would be even better. Plane name if you have one, any of the other options listed in the rules that you may plan on doing, etc.
April 20th, 2000.....Construction pictures are due. This would include and or show a wing and a fuselage in construction or a completed plane. If you have some unique feature that you do not want to reveal at this time, cover it in the picture or obscure in some manner.
May 11th, 2000.....Test flight. By this time you should have a plane completed enough to test fly. A photo of this would be most excellent! Please supply any notes or comments on how the plane performed in it's test flight and if there will be any modifications to the original plan. For you diehards who have built a prototype and are now ready to build the real thing, remember you only have a couple weeks.
June 7th, 2000.....Last date you can do any test flying. This is to prevent anyone from crashing their masterpiece and not allowing for enough time to fix the plane.
June 10th, 2000.....Submit photos of completed plane. As much information as you are willing to part with is due at this time as well. Pretty much we need to know everything except your misc. mechanical feature.
June 17th, 2000.....Day of contest. To be held in Southern California.

Awards


Winner’s Award: The winner is determined by being the last plane in the air at the end of the competition. The winner of the competition earns the coveted Combatant’s Quest flight hat along with a new Combatant’s Quest Champion emblem to display on their plane and future planes.	Special Award: Pilot’s Choice Award will be determined by the pilot’s. To the one they feel most deserving of this award. The Pilot Choice Award is two fold. The pilot who wins this award earns the coveted Pilot Choice flight shirt as well as the PCA emblem to display on their combat plane and future planes. This award is given prior to competition.
